Benjamin Netanyahu Congressional Address & Bible Prophecy
As we “march,” into a new month in 2015, a historical event, I believe is about to unfold. In just a few hours, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is coming to warn Congressional leaders and their America constituents about the dangers of Iran’s nuclear program. This speech will rank as one of the most necessary and important speeches in Israel’s history.
It will address a problem that is far greater than the Babylonian destruction of Jerusalem and the first Jewish Temple in 586 BC. It will even be bigger than the Roman destruction of Jerusalem and the second Jewish Temple in 70 AD. Why?
Because, Iran is about to possess a nuclear weapon (there are some alleged reports claiming that it already has nuclear weapons), and the nation’s rogue Islamic regime is committed to the destruction of Israel. TheBiblical fast described in the Book of Esther was observed by Queen Esther, her relative Mordechai, Esther’s handmaidens and all Israel. On that very day, the enemies of the Jews had planned to subjugate and destroy them. The opposite, however, occurred and the Jews ruled over their enemies.
This speech will be given on the eve of Purim, the Jewish holiday that celebrates Jewish victory over annihilation and genocide.
Hundreds of years before Christ, in the ancient empire of Persia, a fiendish plot was hatched. A palace officer named Haman decided to exterminate the Jews. We can read the account in the Bible’s book of Esther, and it makes us realize some things never change. Persia is modern Iran.
Queen Esther’s petition before the king foiled that plot, and this flipped the script, if you will and thus on Haman was the ultimate punishment: he was hung on the very gallows he built to murder Jews.
For Bible prophecy students, the whole affair is of dire concern, because never before have nuclear weapons posed a threat to the state of Israel. Indeed, the Jewish state has never admitted to having nuclear weapons, and has “enjoyed” a nuclear-free Middle East….. That was until now.
In the book of Esther, the Jew’s ancient enemy in the Persian empire was named Haman. Historically, in the previous generation, we have seen Hitler, and now– Hamas, Hezbollah and a new Haman spirit arising in Iran. In fact, according to the Jewish sages, in every generation Israel’s ancient enemy Amalek arises to try to destroy them through anti-Semitism. Fast forwarding millennia to 2015, the Persians (Iranians) dangerously are on the verge of a nuclear threshold.
Jeremiah 49:34-39—The word of the Lord that came to Jeremiah the prophet against Elam in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, saying, 35 Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Behold, I will break the bow of Elam, the chief of their might. 36 And upon Elam will I bring the four winds from the four quarters of heaven, and will scatter them toward all those winds; and there shall be no nation whither the outcasts of Elam shall not come. 37 For I will cause Elam to be dismayed before their enemies, and before them that seek their life: and I will bring evil upon them, even my fierce anger, saith the Lord; and I will send the sword after them, till I have consumed them: 38 And I will set my throne in Elam, and will destroy from thence the king and the princes, saith the Lord. 39 But it shall come to pass in the latter days, that I will bring again the captivity of Elam, saith the Lord.
Elam is an ancient geographical location mentioned in the Bible. Today its location would be mainly in Iran with a small section in Iraq. It bordered with the ancient Babylonian Empire. The actual location of Elam would be the very northern end of the Persian Gulf and down along with the west coast of Iran.
The context of Jeremiah 49 is judgment on nations that will be fulfilled during the Day of the LORD. The judgment against Elam was not fulfilled but will be in the future. The prophecy speaks of the people being driven off the land and scattered into all the world. This has never happened in recorded history. It also speaks of the God of Israel setting His throne in Elam. This has never happened. This is all future because this prophecy was never fulfilled. It appears that with Elam now the focus of world attention, God is getting ready to fulfill it.
According to Obadiah 1:15, God judges nations in relation to what that nation does to Israel. The judgment as recorded in Jeremiah 49 indicates that Elam was anotorious enemy of Israel. Elam was with the Assyrians and assisted the Babylons in their attacks on Jerusalem. Now, Israel is once again a nation and ancient Elam/Iran is again trying to destroy Israel and capture Jerusalem. Iran wants to destroy Israel.
A very important point to consider is that at the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, commencing with the Day of the LORD, Jesus is returning with the Church to rescue Israel. From the beginning of time Satan has always tried to eliminate and thwart God’s promises of a coming Messiah. Cain slew Abel; Pharaoh wanted every Hebrew boy to be drowned in the Nile River. Haman wanted all Jews destroyed. Herod wanted all Hebrew males killed.Hitler wanted all Jews removed from the face of the earth. Understand that now Satan knows that if there are no Jews, there will be no Second Coming. Now you can see what really is happening behind the scenes spiritually speaking. Look at this map AGAIN and you will see the picture more clearly:
It is has been reported for quite some time now that a nuclear reactor sits in Elam for the purpose of destroying Israel. Elam is Israel’s most dangerous enemy.
Elam/Iran is also the center of Shiite Islam which wants to conquer the world for Allah. It is the center of belief in the Mahdi who the Shiite Muslims believe will lead Islam to conquer the world. Elam can be viewed as the number one enemy of the God of Israel. It is the threat that this nation poses not only to Israel but to the entire world and that is what Benjamin Netanyahu will address to the he U. S. Congress this morning. I am only speculating here but is possible that PM Netanyahu may inform Congress and the American people of the many reasons Israel must strike (a nuclear Iran), without specifically saying that Israel is going to strike Iran’s nuclear program.
So when Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addresses Congress on in just a few hours, he will likely make reference to Purim, that holiday that tomorrow will commemorate the Jews’ salvation from the hands of Haman and the Persians thousands of years ago.
Then the Persians, through Haman wanted to destroy the Jews; today the fundamental Shi’ite sect of Islam in Persia want to destroy the state of the Jews.
We must pray for our nation and our leaders in this pivotal moment in time and we must also pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
