May 2017: Examining (CON)-Current Events

One of the main purposes of this website is to examine current events in light of the Scriptures as pertaining to Bible Prophecy. Unless one has their head in the sand, it goes without saying that there not only current events unfolding today but rather “concurrent” events that ere manifesting before our very eyes in the closing hour of the Church Age.

con·cur·rent (kənˈkərənt); adjective
  1. existing, happening, or done at the same time.
“there are three concurrent art fairs around the city”
    synonyms: simultaneous, coincident, contemporaneous, parallel

As we approach the midway point of the year 2017, which in the Hebrew Calendar is 5777, the year 5778 on the Hebrew calendar is September 21-22, 2017. This will officially mark 70 years from Israel becoming a nation in 1948. One of the most incredible prophetic occurrences is the upcoming sign in the Heavens as mentioned in Revelation 12, that has not been seen for almost 6,000 years. I wrote briefly about that in a previous post:

    https://bibleprophecyfortoday.com/2017/03/05/revelation-12-and-the-year-2017/

What is interesting to note is what happens after this sign appears:

Revelation 12: 7-13And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them[a] in heaven any longer. So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

10 Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. 12 Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time.” 13 Now when the dragon saw that he had been cast to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male Child.

Satan’s rage and fury are moving on Israel.  Satan knows the 70th Week of Daniel is dead ahead.  He tried to cause God’s Word regarding the time of Jacob’s trouble to be broken with the destruction of the Jews. World war 2 and Hitler’s unsuccessful plan to elimnate the Jews from the face of the earth resulted in the birth of a nation.  If Satan can cause all the Jews to be killed, then God’s final call for Israel to repent will fail and His reputation will be destroyed and the Second Coming of Jesus Christ will be prevented….We know this won’t happen.
Notice that in the above passage Michael and his angels fight the dragon. Notice this next passage in the Bible:
Daniel 11:41 thru Daniel 12:1a  —He shall also enter the Glorious Land, and many countries shall be overthrown; but these shall escape from his hand: Edom, Moab, and the prominent people of Ammon. 42 He shall stretch out his hand against the countries, and the land of Egypt shall not escape. 43 He shall have power over the treasures of gold and silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt; also the Libyans and Ethiopians shall follow at his heels. 44 But news from the east and the north shall trouble him; therefore he shall go out with great fury to destroy and annihilate many. 45 And he shall plant the tents of his palace between the seas and the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and no one will help him. “AT THAT TIME MICHAEL SHALL STAND UP, THE GREAT PRINCE WHO STANDS WATCH OVER YOUR PEOPLE; AND THERE SHALL BE A TIME OF TROUBLE, SUCH AS NEVER WAS SINCE THERE WAS A NATION, EVEN TO THAT TIME..
This is a clear depiction of Anti-Christ entering Jerusalem to set up his palace, if you will, between the Mediterranean Sea and the Dead Sea in the glorious land of Israel. Notice that when Michael will “step aside” then a time of trouble (as referenced in Jeremiah 30:7) will commence.
Jeremiah 30:4-7—Now these are the words that the Lord spoke concerning Israel and Judah.“For thus says the Lord: ‘We have heard a voice of trembling,

Of fear, and not of peace. Ask now, and see, Whether a man is ever in labor with child? So why do I see every man with his hands on his loins Like a woman in labor (wait, isn’t that a description of the sign mentioned in Revelation 12???0) And all faces turned pale? Alas! For that day is great, So that none is like it; And it is the time of Jacob’s trouble, But he shall be saved out of it.

So is it any surprise that North Korea suddenly makes an alarming statement that if Israel that damages the “dignity” of the North Korean leadership, North Korea will respond with “merciless, thousand-fold punishment.” What one must understand is that when Israel destroyed Syria’s nascent nuclear program, it was quickly discovered that North Korea had provided the know-how and hardware to the defiant Arab dictatorship.

It is also known that North Korea is in league with some of the Middle East’s more unsavory players, all of which want to see Israeli annihilated. These would include Syria and Iran. Of course, the “Hook” is literally being inserted in the jaw of Russia. Ezekiel 38-39, anyone?

Just last week in an astounding move towards peace, Hamas separated itself from the Muslim Brotherhood and acknowledged the recognition of a peace with Israel. Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal personally declared the new policy document of his organization, announcing that it is not a “branch of the Muslim Brotherhood” anymore. He also declared that Hamas would form better relations with Egypt and other Muslim countries that have problems with the Muslim Brotherhood. It also gave the message it could live together with Israel.

I Thessalonians 2:4For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. (There we go with a similar description of the Sign in Revelation 12….again.) And they shall not escape.

Could this possibly be a ruse by both Turkey and Hamas to help the world pressure Israel to divide the land and will lead to peace treat that is enforced upon Israel at the onset of the 70th Week of Daniel?

Daniel 9:27—Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; But in the middle of the week. He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate, Even until the consummation, which is determined, Is poured out on the desolate.”

What is painstakingly obvious is that several “concurrent” events are rapidly unfolding as we are approaching the end of the Church Age with breakneck speed.

I want with this post with a mention of Methusaleh.  Methuselah comes from muth, a root that means “death”;1 and from shalach, which means to bring, or to send forth. The name Methuselah means, “his death shall bring”.

Methuselah’s father was given a prophecy of the coming Great Flood, and was apparently told that as long as his son was alive, the judgment of the flood would be withheld; but as soon as he died, the flood would be brought or sent forth. And, indeed, the year that Methuselah died, the flood came.

Genesis 5:21-29Enoch lived sixty-five years, and begot Methuselah. 22 After he begot Methuselah, Enoch walked with God three hundred years, and had sons and daughters. 23 So all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years. 24 And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.25 Methuselah lived one hundred and eighty-seven years, and begot Lamech. 26 After he begot Lamech, Methuselah lived seven hundred and eighty-two years, and had sons and daughters. 27 So all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred and sixty-nine years; and he died Lamech lived one hundred and eighty-two years, and had a son. 29 And he called his name Noah, saying, “This one will comfort us concerning our work and the toil of our hands, because of the ground which the Lord has cursed.”

Methusaleh was the oldest living man in the Bible. Is it a coincidence that BOTH  Enoch and Noah are also mentioned here? It was in the days of Noah, when Methushelah died in the year of the flood, that Enoch was “raptured”, prior to the flood. So was Enoch’s rapture, “Pre”-Flood, “Mid”-Flood, or “Post”-Flood??

Matthew 24:37—But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.

Luke 17:26—And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man

Just this past week, the oldest human in the world, Mbah Gotho of Indonesia, died on Sunday, April 30, at the age of 146.  Gotho was reportedly a Christian.  Gotho was exactly 146 years, 4 months, and 1 day old at his death Sunday, April 30th, 2017.

By the way this was exactly 146 days from the Revelation 12 Sign that is to converge on September 23rd 2017.
