2023 AD: The Battle for the Temple Mount
As I write this post on the eve of New Year’s Day 2023, it seems as if 2022 was like the blink of an eye. Suffice to say, it seems as time seems to be accelerating. The question is : “Where are we headed and what does the new year bring???
The one thing that stands the test is time is the Word of God. I have heard it said that truth and time go hand and hand. Well we know that God’s Word is truth:
2 Samuel 7:28—Now, O Lord God, You are God, and Your words are truth, and You have promised this good thing to Your servant.
John 17:17—Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth.
1 Kings 17:24—Then the woman said to Elijah, “Now I know that you are a man of God and that the word of the Lord in your mouth is truth.”
Psalm 19:9–The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever;The judgments of the Lord are true; they are righteous altogether.
We are now two years removed since the world was gripped by the COVID pandemic. The world seems to be growing more anxious, more fearful of the things on this earth: pandemics, food shortage, climate change, inflation, wars, lawlessness and the list goes on and on. I can assure you that the closer we get to the return of the LORD, the faster things on this earth will continue to unravel. But when it is all said and one, God’s Word will stand true and the end-time events written in the Bible will indeed come to pass. We have hope in God’s Word and in Jesus Christ.
Revelation 3:10-13—Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.13 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
If you have followed this blog site I have mentioned in several blogs how Israel takes center stage after the Rapture of the Church and during the 7-Year Tribulation Period. During this period of time major prophetic events unfold which include the emergence of the Anti-Christ and the False Prophet, the sealing of 144,000 Jews (12,000 from from each of the 12 tribes of Israel), the return of the Prophet Elijah accompanied by what many Bible scholars believe would be either Moses or Enoch, trumpet judgements, seal judgments and bowl judgments to name a few.
Everything that has happened and will happen in the future (and may I suggest IMMEDIATE future) will pave the way for these events which were prophesied by the prophets of the Old Testament and Apostles of The New Testament (under the unction of the Holy Spirit) to ultimately come to pass.
Of the many things we can discuss from the above list of events to come I want to focus on the rebuilding of the third temple in Israel and how current day events are rapidly setting the stage for this to come to pass. Before we move forward view the following presentation the describes what is happening I preparation for the rebuilding of the third temple in Israel:
Now keep in mind that as we head into 2023 A. D., in the last 3 years there have been FIVE attempts at establishing a government in Israel and on December 29, 2022, the new Likud-Religious Judaism government led by Bibi Netanyahu was sworn in. Much can be said of what has transpired and why it did during the last three years but let’s focus on what is coming next:
First and foremost, we need to understand that several Religious Judaism parties are holding sway within the current Likud government. Not only is this faction Ultra-Conservative, but they also are no longer going to tolerate any acts of terrorism.
One of their first laws clearly suggests that here will no longer be “catch and release” for Islamic terrorists.
“Due to the intensification of acts of terrorism with the intention of harming the State of Israel as the state of the Jewish people, and in order to defeat the threats, the coalition factions will enact, prior to the passage of the budget for 2023, a death penalty law for terrorists.”:
Furthermore, non-existent laws and other police illegalities regarding Temple Mount visitation by Jews such will most likely change as well.
Other news law which favor religious liberty will exempt religious Jews and business owners from exercising their Torah beliefs in refusing to provide services that are against those beliefs. This means that currently existent “anti-discrimination” laws that punish religious Jews for refusing to honor the desires of the LGBTQ community, and others, which are in direct conflict with the Hebrew Scriptures. Ladies and gentlemen, the driving forces behind all that is being accepted, tolerated and promoted in today’s culture that is in contrast to what the Bible teaches is going to retaliate against Israel.
The outgoing government of Yair Lapid made it clear they will do everything in their power to stand in opposition the new Zionist government in the State of Israel. The official organizations of the world such as the World Economic Forum, the United Nations, and yes, even the the current United States government are all taking note as well.
Another new development of note is the Coalition agreement between Likud and the Religious parties otherwise known as the “Sovereignty Plan.“
This initiative will bring FULL Israeli sovereignty over Judea and Samaria. What does this mean? It means that the majority of the people of Israel have spoken and have made clear their desire for full Israel sovereignty over the whole of Biblical Israel and NO to a “Palestinian” state on the territory of Eretz Israel.
Coming back to the Temple Mount issue, King Abdullah of Jordan himself declared that Jordan is prepared for conflict if the current existing conditions of the Temple Mount are in any way amended.
Do you see where this is all headed???
Muslims will riot, and the Temple Mount will become the focus of the next crisis in the Palestinian-Israeli or Jewish/Islamic conflict as well the issue of establishing an independent Palestine as a result of further dividing the nation of Israel. It is being reported that Palestinian Authority is already pleading to the international community to reject any dealings with a government committed to carrying out international crimes:
Does this mean all actions this new government in Israel enforces which do not not agree with what the rest of the world supports will be considered an international crime. What court will decide on this???
We are not far removed from the prophetic fulfillment of the following:
Psalm 83:1-8—Keep not thou silence, O God: hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God.2 For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.3 They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones.4 They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.5 For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee:6 The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes;7 Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre;8 Assur also is joined with them: they have holpen the children of Lot. Selah.
Ezekiel 28:4-6-–24 And there shall be no more a pricking brier unto the house of Israel, nor any grieving thorn of all that are round about them, that despised them; and they shall know that I am the Lord God.25 Thus saith the Lord God; When I shall have gathered the house of Israel from the people among whom they are scattered, and shall be sanctified in them in the sight of the heathen, then shall they dwell in their land that I have given to my servant Jacob.26 And they shall dwell safely therein, and shall build houses, and plant vineyards; yea, they shall dwell with confidence, when I have executed judgments upon all those that despise them round about them; and they shall know that I am the Lord their God.
Did I forget to mention that when the new government was formed, Prime Minister Benjamin explained the priorities of the new government as follows:
“First of all, to block Iran. This is an existential question. First of all, we will see to our existence and security. Second, to restore the security and governance within the State of Israel. Third, to deal with the cost of living and the housing problem. Fourth, and I believe that this is within reach, to dramatically expand the circle of peace.”

Furthermore, the outgoing Defense Minister Benny Gantz just a few days ago warned that Israel could strike Iran nukes by air after Iran threatened to raze Tel Aviv:

On a final note as we enter the year 2023, I want to mention Psalm 123:
Psalm 123: Unto thee lift I up mine eyes, O thou that dwellest in the heavens.2 Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the Lord our God, until that he have mercy upon us.3 Have mercy upon us, O Lord, have mercy upon us: for we are exceedingly filled with contempt.4 Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scorning of those that are at ease, and with the contempt of the proud.
What is interesting is that in my bible this Psalm is refaced by the following statement: The Song of ASCENT. So Psalm 123 is one of fifteen psalms known as the Psalms of Ascent. These psalms (120-134) are all about getting back home—they are about dwelling with God.
Psalm 123 is a call for the LORD to bring His power into our situation where we are held in contempt by the powers of darkness. Throughout 2022 even up to this day, where ever the enemy has attempted to dissuade, discourage, hassle, confuse or attack you in anyway to bring doubt confusion and despair, know for a surety that God will have the last word. The best is yet to come.
Finally, I am not date setting but of particular interest is the definition of the word ascent:
One definition of ascent is: a climb or walk to the summit of hill.
Another definition is: AN INSTANCE OF RISING THROUGH THE AIR!!

Buckle up because 2023 promises to be a year of accelerated prophetic fulfillment. The Church Age is quickly coming to a close and God’s attention is moving toward Israel. Now is the time to teach the gospel of Jesus Christ and the message of the Kingdom to all that need to hear it before the door to the ark of safety closes and the Church Age comes to an end.
And Pray for the peace of Jerusalem…..
