2020 without a doubt can unequivocally be looked upon as one of the most prophetically significant years in quite some time and yet here we are only five months in as the month of June is just days away.
Yes, we have witnessed a greater degree of famine, locusts, volcanoes, earthquakes, fires, rumors of war, and the list goes on.
The tipping point of this all has been the current COVID-19 pandemic and its economic and global ramifications which are yet to be determined in its severity.
What seemed to be an afterthought but Biblically speaking is most assuredly positioning itself to move into the forefront of all eschatological events is the current crisis that has been simmering for quite some time but is ready to reach its boiling point. Keep reading………..
After three elections and over almost a year and half of waiting, the Jewish state of Israel, also referred to as Judah, has finally agreed upon a government. Howbeit, it currently has two leaders, BOTH named Benjamin (Netanyahu & Gantz). Each leader will serve 18-month terms beginning with Benjamin Netanyahu. Both terms equal 36 months or 3 1/2 years. Benjamin Netanyahu stated during his swearing in ceremony that they would move forward with the settlements in the West Bank.
According to Benjamin Netanyahu, on July 1, 2020, which officially begins the second half of the year 2020, Israel will begin its sovereignty over Judea and Samaria. Keep in mind that as a result of the War of independence in 1948, Jordan annexed Judea and Samaria, as well as East Jerusalem.
However, as a result of the Six-Day in June of 1967, Israel recaptured Judea and Samaria, which since have been under Israeli control.
Jerusalem as Israel’s capital was built by King David over 3,000 years ago, and has never been a capital for any people other than the Jewish people, as was chronicled in the bible, and proved by independent archaeological discoveries found.
Jewish presence in the old city of Jerusalem existed uninterruptedly until the Jewish Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem was overrun by the Jordanian Legion in 1948. This brought about the division of Jerusalem into East Jerusalem, which includes the Old City, and West Jerusalem. In 1967, Jerusalem was reunited, and like any other nation’s capital, will never be divided or shared with any other……….until July 1, 2020???
We already know that King Abdullah of Jordan has already given Israel a stern warning that if Israel proceeds with the annexing of territories in Judea and Samaria this summer that a massive conflict will ensue.
Add to this, Recap Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey has stated that he personally would not allow the annexation of Judaea and Samaria to occur. This alone raises the strong possibility that war in the Middle East could possibly erupt next month.
And if that is not enough, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khomenei referred to Israel as a “cancerous tumor to be destroyed,” and has promised to support any nation group that fights Israel and has urged Palestinian militant groups to cooperate, and expand the field of Jihad in All “Palestinian lands.” This would include Judea & Samaria!
Hosea 5:8-13—Blow ye the cornet in Gibeah, and the trumpet in Ramah: cry aloud at Bethaven, after thee, O Benjamin.9 Ephraim shall be desolate in the day of rebuke: among the tribes of Israel have I made known that which shall surely be.10 The princes of Judah were like them that remove the bound: therefore I will pour out my wrath upon them like water.11 Ephraim is oppressed and broken in judgment, because he willingly walked after the commandment.12 Therefore will I be unto Ephraim as a moth, and to the house of Judah as rottenness.13 When Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah saw his wound, then went Ephraim to the Assyrian, and sent to king Jareb: yet could he not heal you, nor cure you of your wound.
In the Contemporary English Version, Verse 1o reads like this:
Hosea 5:10–Judah’s leaders are like crooks who move boundary markers; that’s why I will flood them with my anger.
In the Bible, especially in the Old Testament, the unleashing of the anger of the LORD can be equated with His wrath or ultimately a time known as the Day of the LORD which has a simultaneous occurrence during a period known as the Time of Jacob’s (Israel’s) trouble.
Jeremiah 30:1-7–The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying,2 Thus speaketh the Lord God of Israel, saying, Write thee all the words that I have spoken unto thee in a book.3 For, lo, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will bring again the captivity of my people Israel and Judah, saith the Lord: and I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it.4 And these are the words that the Lord spake concerning Israel and concerning Judah.5 For thus saith the Lord; We have heard a voice of trembling, of fear, and not of peace.6 Ask ye now, and see whether a man doth travail with child? wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail, and all faces are turned into paleness?
7 Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble, but he shall be saved out of it.”
The chapter ends with some very strong verbiage coming from the LORD of the Sabaoth:
Jeremiah 30:23-24— Behold, the whirlwind of the Lord goeth forth with fury, a continuing whirlwind: it shall fall with pain upon the head of the wicked.24 The fierce anger of the Lordshall not return, until he hath done it, and until he have performed the intents of his heart: in the latter days ye shall consider it.
Two things to consider here:
1) The anger of the Lord is mentioned again as He is opposed to the dividing of His Covenant Land.2) The reader is being informed that “…in the latter days ye shall consider it.”
Again, it must be mentioned that God is not favor the dividing of the Covenant Land He promised to Abraham. Although it is inevitable that the nations of the world will proceed to try to accomplish this, the LORD will intervene:
Hosea 3:1-2— For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem,2 I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.
One does not need an M. Div. or a Doctorate in Theology to discern that we are indeed living in the latter days. A simple reading of Matthew 24 clearly confirms that. I also believe that what took place during the COVID-19 pandemic is the microcosm of something that may repeat itself in similar fashion during the Tribulation period but with greater consequences.
What we need to understand is that the nation Israel has been the central focus of the Bible and becomes just that during the Tribulation period after the Rapture of the Church.
Soon and very soon, it will leapfrog all other events and take center stage culminating in the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. We know that prior to His return, the nation will be divided. This is exactly what is getting ready to take place in the very near future.
In the television series Avengers Assemble, this quote meant that you have reached the point of the story in which although it appears as if the villains appear to have an advantage, the audience needs a cue that the action is about to shift and the villains will soon be defeated.
Could it be that although we have been forbidden to congregate for the past several months and we are near the end of the Church Age that the time has come for the true Body Christ, with JESUS being the ultimate Avenger to get ready to assemble again???
Will the true Church assemble to reap a harvest of souls or will the true Church assemble …..in the air??
2 Chronicles 7:14—If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
The Great Awakening was a spiritual renewal that swept the American Colonies, particularly New England, during the first half of the 18th Century. Many Christians began to disassociate themselves with the established approach to worship at the time which had led to a general sense of complacency among believers, and instead they adopted an approach which was characterized by great fervor and emotion in prayer.
The Second Great Awakening was a Protestant revival movement during the early 19th century in the United States. The movement began around 1790, gained momentum by 1800 and, after 1820, membership rose rapidly among Baptist and Methodist congregations whose preachers led the movement. It peaked before the mid 1840’s. Again, prayer was what moved the hand of God in this revival as well.
If you notice in the above mentioned verse, God is referring to Hispeople. Currently, it seems as if the majority of churches are tepid and/or floundering. Polls reveal that church attendance is low (This normally happens in the summer months as people take vacations and what not.) In many churches it seems as if “Holiness,” and the “Fear and reverence for God” has taken a back seat to ear-tickling messages that appease and please the congregations. It has been said that current polls also state that the typical Evangelical pastor only prays about 5 minutes a day.
Luke 18:1-8—And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith. And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?
It goes without saying that our nation is in a crisis. Nothing takes God by surprise though. Prayer is the most vital spiritual weapon we have.
James 5:16-18—Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.
Elijah was a man with a nature like ours. Elijah was a man who could make it rain. The Holy Spirit, through this text, could be trying to convey to us that, if Elijah can do it, we can do it. We can make it rain. But what does that mean?
In biblical typology, different liquids typify the Holy Spirit in different aspects. For example, new wine is a liquid which represents the Holy Spirit in the aspect of worship. Another liquid is oil, which speaks of the anointing of the Holy Spirit. But the living water, in Scripture, is always the Holy Spirit outpoured.
Isaiah 44:1-4—Yet now hear, O Jacob my servant; and Israel, whom I have chosen: Thus saith the Lord that made thee, and formed thee from the womb, which will help thee; Fear not, O Jacob, my servant; and thou, Jesurun, whom I have chosen. For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring: And they shall spring up as among the grass, as willows by the water courses.
The rain, outpoured, goes into the water table and becomes living water. Jesus explained it like this:
John 7:38-39—He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
Jesus said directly that living water is the Holy Spirit outpoured. Once again, it says that God will pour out the water – that is rain – on the dry ground. And He says that this means He will pour out His Spirit. Rain is a figure.
I am convinced that we are facing a “spiritual” famine in the land:
Amos 8:11-13—Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord: And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it. In that day shall the fair virgins and young men faint for thirst.
Why is this the case??? The rain stops because of the sins of the nation. Before we start pointing fingers at various issues let us understand this: The first and foremost responsibility for the decline of Western civilization does not lie with secular society, it lies with us, the church.
In the case with the nation of Israel in the Old Testament, It was the sin of God’s people that stopped the rain. Currently, the problems proliferating throughout our society: drugs, abortion, divorce, violence, crime – all testify to the failure of the church. God’s people compromised and eventual Israel ended up with the priests of Baal. That is what happened in Elijah’s day, and that is what is happening today. It is not “raining” because of the sin of God’s people.
Like Elijah, we must be willing to put God first over everything else. So often today, the problem is that people are putting other things first – such as their culture, their identity, their denominations and even other men and their loyalties to such – beforeobedience to the Word of God. God wants to be Number 1 on a list of one.
We are entering what just may be e a very difficult period – not just trial and testing, not just drought, nor even persecution – but all those things together. It will get to the point where the people you try to help will think you have betrayed them. But no matter how bad things get, no matter how dark it becomes, no matter how critical the drought, if you indeed are putting God first, then you will have the Word of God and you will have the anointing of the spirit, no matter what happens. You will have your grain and your oil when the others are affected from famine.
So why has the rain stopped? Partly because of the sins of society, but mostly because of the sins of the Church. And until there is repentance in the Church, there is not going to be a repentance in the world. It is primarily my fault, because I know the truth and I have the message that can make the difference. It is our fault, because the church in the West is for the most part becoming like Laodicea:
Revelation 3:14-22—–And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
The Church has become accustomed to trusting in this life and this world more than she is trusting in Jesus. She has also been seduced by much unbiblical, false and dangerous doctrines, all associated with hype and with prophecies that do not happen. Furthermore, in Laodicea, this church is also suffering from a blindness to its true spiritual state in the eyes of God at the precipice of an avalanche of prophetic events that will constitute the final outcome of the church and the nation of Israel. Have not enough enough prophetic events occurred in the first two months of 2020 alone? And an avalanche of events is prepping to be unleashed this Spring as well.
2 Peter 2:1-3—But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.
2 Timothy 4:1-3-—I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
Are you willing to no longer be bound by tradition or institutions. Are you tired of trying to put new wine into old wine skins. Are you willing to do what God tells you and trust God to provide for you in ways you couldn’t expect? Are you willing to be pruned, purified and be made fit for the Master’s use?
Romans 13:11-14-–And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to AWAKE out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.
1 Corinthians 15:33-34—Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. AWAKE to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.
Ephesians 5:1-21—Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints. Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. Be not ye therefore partakers with them. For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light. Wherefore he saith, AWAKE thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.
Throughout Church history we have witnessed revivals, awakenings and outpourings. As we continue onward entering the quarter mark of the year 2020 let’s seek God with All our hearts and expected Him to move unlike ever before.
Haggai 2:9-12—The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the Lord of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the Lord of hosts…
Psalm 102:13-18—Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.14 For thy servants take pleasure in her stones, and favour the dust thereof.15 So the heathen shall fear the name of the Lord, and all the kings of the earth thy glory.16 When the Lord shall build up Zion, he shall appear in his glory.17 He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and not despise their prayer.18 This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the Lord.
I pray that we are the generation to come mentioned I the above verse.
Help Wanted: God is seeking for some rainmakers. It is time to awaken!!!!
As mentioned in the previous article, Jesus Christ himself referred to Queen Jezebel (metaphorically speaking) to point out false religion and spiritual seduction which would be taking place in the Church prior to His return.
Revelation 2:19-24—And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass; 19 I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last to be more than the first. 20 Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.
When churches lack qualified leadership and a lack of discipleship, there is always a very strong probability that they can become vulnerable to the lies of the false teachers and false prophets of the developed world.
Scripture says the following:
1 Timothy 4:1—Now the Spirit speaketh expressly that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils.
False religion and spiritual seduction not only leads to scriptural error and idolatry, but it can also cause one to be lead astray, to be lead into error, to be deceived and ultimately to fall away from truth. The teaching of God’s Word is not something that should ever be taken lightly:
James 3:1—My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.
Notice the NLT:
James 3:1–Dear brothers and sisters,[a] not many of you should become teachers in the church, for we who teach will be judged more strictly. 2 Indeed, we all make many mistakes. For if we could control our tongues, we would be perfect and could also control ourselves in every other way.
Although the context of the chapter focuses on the power of the tongue and how we should be careful with our words James clearly emphasize the seriousness of being a teacher of God’s Word.
Getting back to Elijah, whose name “Eliyahu,” in the original language meant “My God, He is Yahweh,” his very name became a polemic against false teaching and idolatry, specifically towards Ba’al worship which become the norm under reign of King Ahab and the pagan influence and spiritual seduction of Queen Jezebel. Jezebel, a daughter of the king of Zidon, led the people away from the Lord to worship Baal the sun-god, and the goddess Ashtoreth, whom the Zidonians worshipped.
This was the state of Israel when the Lord sent the prophet Elijah to warn the people and call them back to Him. He spoke as boldly as John the Baptist did years afterward. And like John the Baptist, his hair was long and he wore a leather girdle. Elijah is called the Tishbite. It is not sure where the town was in which he was born, but he was living in Gilead beyond Jordan.
The Lord sent the prophet to tell Ahab that there would be a drought and famine because the people were disobedient and no longer following God. And the famine came, and lasted three years and six months. In the meantime Elijah was cared for by the Lord. He was hidden from Ahab and Jezebel, who would have killed him, and was fed.
James 5:17-18—Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. 18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.
Notice how Elijah’s ministry was compared to John the Baptist, who was a voice crying in the wilderness. John the Baptist’s ministry was outside the conventional population areas. He was in the wilderness. Since the time of his birth, the Bible tells us tells us that he spent his entire life in the wilderness. . He wore camel’s hair and he ate locusts and wild honey. He was obviously a man apart from the establishment. He lived clearly outside the influences, the attitudes and the life style of his culture. By God’s design he was uninfluenced by his society, as was Enoch and was Elijah.
John the Baptist didn’t care about cultural relevance, he didn’t have any social savvy. He didn’t know his culture by personal experience or study. But he knew his God and he knew the message of his God.
I want to make a very important point here: The true prophet of God has never been called to find the common ground with his culture. The true prophet of God has always been called to bring the pure uninfluenced Word of God to confront that culture, preaching repentance for the forgiveness of sin. John’s responsibility also was to prepare the people for the coming of the Lord. That’s what John the Baptist did and that’s what Elijah did and that’s what the true Church will do prior to the Rapture.
I want to close with yet another interesting similarity between the times we are living in and the times of the ministries of both John the Baptist and Elijah: Notice there was a famine in the land.
Not only was there a famine in the land bot spiritually speaking there was a famine of hearing and understanding God’s Word in the land:
Amos 8:11-12—Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord: 12 And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it.
In this regard, it can be said then that John the baptist broke the first famine in the hearing of God’s Word in preparation of the First Coming of Christ and ultimately Elijah the Prophet, who many Bible scholars believe will be one of the two witnesses God raises during the Tribulation period will be instrumental in dealing with yet another famine in the hearing of God’s Word prior to the return of the Messiah. Even these two witnesses will ultimately be “raptured,”:
Revelation 12:1-12—-And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein. 2 But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months. 3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth. 4 These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth. 5 And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed. 6 These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will. 7 And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them. 8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. 9 And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves. 10 And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth. 11 And after three days and an half the spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them. 12 And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.
Keep in mind that before the two witnesses are revealed on the earth the Church must be raptured. In anticipation of these two events perhaps we are living in the last days whereas the true Body of Christ is being raised to bring the pure uninfluenced Word of God to confront the current culture, to preach repentance for the forgiveness of sin and to prepare the people for the coming of the Lord.
As we continue with this series, we must understand the importance of the eternal nature as well as the temporal nature of redemption. When we are “born-again,” our old self is crucified and we are redeemed to both go to Heaven and to reign with Christ in the Millennium. Yet while on earth, which is our temporal abode, we all fulfill a purpose in this temporal life on this temporal earth. This is done collectively as the body of Christ so that we can ultimately facilitate the coming of the future kingdom. Our navigation device on this earth is the Holy Bible itself:
II Timothy 3:16-17—All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
Some may say, “Oh, well you are so heavenly-minded that you’re of no earthly good.” I beg to disagree. Being correctly heavenly-minded if anything should directly affect your conduct on earth. Whether or not we, as born-again believers fulfill such a calling will then determine the very magnitude of our status and rewards when Christ does return. (Please see the previous posts on this website: Crowns & Rewards & Stages of Salvation Parts I & II.)
As mentioned in the previous post, the strong emphasis on the fact that Enoch walked with God is synonymous with that of a New Testament believer who is striving to walk in the spirit:
Romans 5:8-11— For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. 9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. 10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
There is another rapture that takes place in the Bible that is the rapture of the prophet Elijah:
2 Kings 2:1-12— And it came to pass, when the Lord would take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal. 2 And Elijah said unto Elisha, Tarry here, I pray thee; for the Lord hath sent me to Bethel. And Elisha said unto him, As the Lord liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they went down to Bethel. 3 And the sons of the prophets that were at Bethel came forth to Elisha, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Lord will take away thy master from thy head to day? And he said, Yea, I know it; hold ye your peace. 4 And Elijah said unto him, Elisha, tarry here, I pray thee; for the Lord hath sent me to Jericho. And he said, As the Lord liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they came to Jericho. 5 And the sons of the prophets that were at Jericho came to Elisha, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Lord will take away thy master from thy head to day? And he answered, Yea, I know it; hold ye your peace. 6 And Elijah said unto him, Tarry, I pray thee, here; for the Lord hath sent me to Jordan. And he said, As the Lord liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. And they two went on. 7 And fifty men of the sons of the prophets went, and stood to view afar off: and they two stood by Jordan. 8 And Elijah took his mantle, and wrapped it together, and smote the waters, and they were divided hither and thither, so that they two went over on dry ground. 9 And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me. 10 And he said, Thou hast asked a hard thing: nevertheless, if thou see me when I am taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall not be so. 11 And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven. 12 And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces.
What one must understand in regards to Elijah’s ministry is that God raised him up to deal with Ahab and Jezebel and the priests of Baal among other things.
Baal was considered the god of fertility in all aspects of life—human, animal, and vegetable. Production and prosperity were dependent on Baal. The Ras Shamrah text, an important archaeological find, praises Baal as the god who has power over rain, thunder, lightning, wind, clouds and dew, and, consequently, over fertility. Baal was also worshipped as the weather god, the god of storm, of rain and good crops.
Worship was localized so that each area worshipped its own Baal. A name from the city or place where Baal was worshipped was frequently added. This resulted in a variety of names like Baal-Meon, Baal-Hermon, Baal-Hazor, Baal-Zebub, Baal-Marduk, etc.
1 Kings 16:29-33–And in the thirty and eighth year of Asa king of Judah began Ahab the son of Omri to reign over Israel: and Ahab the son of Omri reigned over Israel in Samaria twenty and two years. 30 And Ahab the son of Omri did evil in the sight of the Lord above all that were before him. 31 And it came to pass, as if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he took to wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Zidonians, and went and served Baal, and worshipped him. 32 And he reared up an altar for Baal in the house of Baal, which he had built in Samaria. 33 And Ahab made a grove; and Ahab did more to provoke the Lord God of Israel to anger than all the kings of Israel that were before him.
1 Kings 18:17-39— And it came to pass, when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said unto him, Art thou he that troubleth Israel? 18 And he answered, I have not troubled Israel; but thou, and thy father’s house, in that ye have forsaken the commandments of the Lord, and thou hast followed Baalim. 19 Now therefore send, and gather to me all Israel unto mount Carmel, and the prophets of Baal four hundred and fifty, and the prophets of the groves four hundred, which eat at Jezebel’s table. 20 So Ahab sent unto all the children of Israel, and gathered the prophets together unto mount Carmel. 21 And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the Lord be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word. 22 Then said Elijah unto the people, I, even I only, remain a prophet of the Lord; but Baal’s prophets are four hundred and fifty men. 23 Let them therefore give us two bullocks; and let them choose one bullock for themselves, and cut it in pieces, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under: and I will dress the other bullock, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under: 24 And call ye on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the Lord: and the God that answereth by fire, let him be God. And all the people answered and said, It is well spoken. 25 And Elijah said unto the prophets of Baal, Choose you one bullock for yourselves, and dress it first; for ye are many; and call on the name of your gods, but put no fire under. 26 And they took the bullock which was given them, and they dressed it, and called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, O Baal, hear us. But there was no voice, nor any that answered. And they leaped upon the altar which was made. 27 And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked. 28 And they cried aloud, and cut themselves after their manner with knives and lancets, till the blood gushed out upon them. 29 And it came to pass, when midday was past, and they prophesied until the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that there was neither voice, nor any to answer, nor any that regarded. 30 And Elijah said unto all the people, Come near unto me. And all the people came near unto him. And he repaired the altar of the Lord that was broken down. 31 And Elijah took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, unto whom the word of the Lord came, saying, Israel shall be thy name: 32 And with the stones he built an altar in the name of the Lord: and he made a trench about the altar, as great as would contain two measures of seed. 33 And he put the wood in order, and cut the bullock in pieces, and laid him on the wood, and said, Fill four barrels with water, and pour it on the burnt sacrifice, and on the wood. 34 And he said, Do it the second time. And they did it the second time. And he said, Do it the third time. And they did it the third time. 35 And the water ran round about the altar; and he filled the trench also with water. 36 And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I am thy servant, and that I have done all these things at thy word. 37 Hear me, O Lord, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the Lord God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again. 38 Then the fire of the Lord fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench. 39 And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said, The Lord, he is the God; the Lord, he is the God.
We read in the above account that the priests of Ba’al, who were actually Hebrew priests seduced by the paganistic beliefs of Queen Jezebel, could not make it rain when they called upon their God Ba’al. Why am I mentioning this and how does it apply to us today?
Interestingly, Jesus Christ referred to Queen Jezebel (metaphorically speaking) to point out false religion and spiritual seduction which would be taking place in the Church prior to His return. OUCH!!!
21 And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. 22 Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. 23 And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works. 24 But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden.
Jezebel, a Phoenician princess, was the daughter of King Ethbaal of Sidonia, another name for Phoenicia. King Ethbaal reigned in Tyre, probably over all Phoenicia. The name “Ethbaal” means with him is Baal. He was originally priest of Ashtoreth, goddess and consort of Ba’al, in Tyre. The Jewish historian Josephus reported that at the age of 36 he conspired against the Tyrian king, Pheles, killed him, and seized the throne. His reign lasted 32 years, and he established a dynasty which continued for at least another 62 years.
This tells us something about Jezebel’s heritage. She came from a royal household that had taken power from other rulers, so she was probably well-schooled in political intrigue. Her name in Phoenician translates roughly as The Lord [Ba’al] exists, but in biblical Hebrew her name means without nobility. That speaks very much of her character, doesn’t it?(To be Continued….)
There are people today denying there will be a rapture, or catching up, to be with the Lord Jesus. As absurd as this sounds, even within the Body of Christ many believers are being told that there is no rapture. I wrote this three-part post a few years ago. However, in light of the acceleration of prophetic events I really sensed a nudging from the Spirit of God to repost them. Please read them. I trust you will be blessed:
When studying our Bibles, we have to look at what else happened in a given location to understand the full dimension of its spiritual and theological significance. That being said, let’s look at some of the people who were raptured and some who were resurrected:
Genesis 5:21-27—And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah: 22 And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters: 23 And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years: 24 And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him. 25 And Methuselah lived an hundred eighty and seven years, and begat Lamech. 26 And Methuselah lived after he begat Lamech seven hundred eighty and two years, and begat sons and daughters: 27 And all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred sixty and nine years: and he died.
A couple of interesting points in this reference to note here is that for starters, Enoch walked or fellowshipped with God.In others He knew God and He obeyed God despite the world that was in contrast around him. From the very beginning, God had a relationship with Adam and Eve that found them “walking in the garden in the cool of the day”
Genesis 3:8—And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden.
So God created man for the enjoyment of a walking relationship that involved companionship, dialogue, intimacy, joint decision-making, mutual delight, and shared dominion. Prior to the rapture of the Church, the Church must be doing so likewise. Here is the interesting part: Enoch must have discovered something even Adam may not have experience. He pressed into God until he learned how to commune with God through every facet of life. To find that dimension of relationship certainly required an intense spiritual pursuit, and then when he found it, the Lord made a graphic statement by taking him up to heaven.
As we walk with Him, he will open the Scriptures to us through the Spirit of wisdom and revelation and reveal to us the light of the glory of God that is to be found in Him.
When we walk with God, we enter the dimension where God unfolds the secrets of his kingdom.
Deuteronomy 29:29—The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law. (in this case, law = the teaching and instructions of God.)
Matthew 13:11-16— He answered and said unto them, “Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of Heaven, but to them it is not given. 12 For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance. But whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that which he hath. 13 Therefore speak I to them in parables, because seeing, they see not, and hearing, they hear not, neither do they understand. 14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah, which saith, ‘By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive. 15 For this people’s heart has waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.’ 16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see; and your ears, for they hear.
These are the paths that the Old Testament Patriarchs travelled before us. Noah knew the secret of walking with God:
Genesis 6:9–These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.
Although he was not raptured, Noah and his family were spared from the judgment which was in the form of the global flood. Abraham also knew the secret of walking with God.
Genesis 24:40— And he (Abraham) said unto me, The Lord, before whom I walk, will send his angel with thee, and prosper thy way; and thou shalt take a wife for my son of my kindred, and of my father’s house….
Even Daniel understood the secret things of God:
Daniel 4:7-9—Then came in the magicians, the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers; and I told the dream before them, but they did not make known unto me the interpretation thereof. 8 But at the last Daniel came in before me, whose name was Belteshazzar, according to the name of my god, and in whom is the spirit of the holy gods; and before him I told the dream, saying, 9 ‘O Belteshazzar, master of the magicians, because I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in thee and no secret troubleth thee, tell me the visions of my dream that I have seen and the interpretation thereof.
As New Testament believers, we are instructed to “walk,” by faith:
2 Corinthians 5:1-7–For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. 2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven: 3 If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked. 4 For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life. 5 Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit.6 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: 7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
Through Christ, we can explore the glorious riches of knowing God like they did—and to even a greater degree because of the Spirit which has been given to us! The mysteries of God are always unveiled to the faithful Church. In preparing for the return of the LORD, there are three specific mysteries which must be unveiled in order to fully comprehend the end-time events that are to come. They are:
1. The Mystery of Iniquity:
2 Thessalonians 2:1-7–Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and by our gathering together unto Him, 2 that ye be not soon shaken in mind or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as if from us that the Day of Christ is at hand. 3 Let no man deceive you by any means, for that Day shall not come, unless there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition, 4 who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sitteth as God in the temple of God, showing himself to be God. 5 Remember ye not that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? 6 And now ye know what withholdeth, that he might be revealed in his time. 7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now holdeth back will hold him back, until he is taken out of the way.
2. The Mystery of Israel and the Church
Romans 11:25-32—For I, brethren, would not have you be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits: that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles be come in.
26 And so all Israel shall be saved, as it is written: “There shall come out of Zion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob. 27 For this is My covenant unto them when I shall take away their sins.” 28 Concerning the Gospel, they are enemies for your sake; but concerning the election, they are beloved for the fathers’ sakes. 29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.
30 For as in times past ye have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief, 31 even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy. 32 For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that He might have mercy upon all.
3. The Mystery of the Rapture itself:
1 Corinthians 15:51-58— Behold, I show you a mystery: We shall not all sleep; but we shall all be changed 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.” 55 “O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?” 56 The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, who giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ! 58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, for ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
In addition, it merits mentioning here also that for those who do not comprehend the mystery of faith, the mystery of the Gospel and the mystery of Christ, they may not truly comprehend the mystery of the return of Christ:
1 Timothy 3:7-9—Moreover he must have a good reputation with those who are outsiders, lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil. 8 Likewise must the deacons be serious, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy for filthy lucre, 9 holding the mystery of the faith with a pure conscience.
Ephesians 6:18-20— praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints. 19 And pray for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the Gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in bonds, that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
Ephesians 3:1-6— For this cause I, Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles— 2 if ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me toward you, 3 how by revelation He made known unto me the mystery (as I wrote before in a few words, 4 whereby when ye read this, ye may understand my knowledge of the mystery of Christ), 5 which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto His holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit: 6 that the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, and of the same body, and partakers of His promise in Christ by the Gospel,
Now getting back to Enoch. It is very important to know that the Bible clearly tells us in addition, when Enoch was raptured, his son, who represented the next generation lived for 969 years which is close to 1,000 years. We know that the name Methuselah means, “when he is dead it shall be sent.” Notice that after the Rapture, ultimately the next generation that will continue into the Millennial Kingdom will also last 1,000 years. As grim as this may sound, in addition, after the Rapture of the Church, death will be sent as the Seal, Trumpetand Bowl Judgments in the Book of Revelation come to pass.
Revelation 6:4— And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.
Revelation 6:7-8—7 And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see. 8 And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.
In the Book of Revelation, the Apostle John is given a series of visions and revelations (no pun intended) that describe what many Bible scholars agree to be the history of the Church in the first three chapters. This is then followed by a series of judgments that occur in Sevens: There are Seven Seals that are broken, followed by Seven Trumpet judgments and then there is a a series of Seven Bowl judgments ultimately culminating in the very return of the Lord Jesus Christ and the establishment of the Millennial Kingdom.
Revelation 5:1-5—Then I saw in the right hand of him who sat on the throne a scroll with writing on both sides and sealed with seven seals. 2 And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming in a loud voice, “Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll?” 3 But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth could open the scroll or even look inside it. 4 I wept and wept because no one was found who was worthy to open the scroll or look inside. 5 Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.
Here you see the beginning of the judgments and it is confirmed that there is none other to open the seals then Jesus Christ Himself. remember at his first coming He came riding on a donkey and was meek and humble and servant-like. His second coming is different story.
The year 2020 is still in its first month and so much has happened globally beginning with the U.S. on the brink of war with Iran. In no particular order we then witnessed one of the largest fires in the world taking place in Australia burning up over 72,000 square miles of forest and brush, claiming the lives of over one billion vertebrate animals let alone taking the lives of many people and being listed as the fifth largest fire ever recorded in the world!
Popocatépetl Volcano near Mexico City suffered a large eruption sending ash two miles into the air. Mexico City has the 11th most populous metro area in the world.
Taal Volcano near Manila, the capital of the Philippines, just experienced a massive eruption—its first eruption since 1977. Ash reached over nine miles into the sky. Metro Manila is the 7th most populous metro area in the world. Within 60 miles of the Popocatépetl and Taal volcanoes, there are some 50 million people.
The entire Russian government under Vladimir Putin resigned paving the way for Putin to make sweeping constitutional changes similar to what Recip Erdogan did in Turkey a few years ago (Gog & Magog anyone?)
Great Britain decides to exit the European Union. The geopolitical and economic impact that this will have both in Europe and globally could be profound. Israel will have its third election in less than a year. By the way since its founding in 1948, Israel had never had a redo election, and now it’s about to have its third since last April of 2019.
Just last week an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.8 rocked eastern Turkey on Friday, causing some buildings to collapse, killing at least 14 people, injuring more than 300 and leaving several trapped, Turkish officials said. The epicentre of the quake was in the Elazig province, about 340 miles east of the capital, Ankara. The quake was felt as far away as Israel, where residents in Petah Tikva, Holon, Yavne and Beersheba reported feeling the temblor. Folks we have had over a dozen quakes that have measured 6.0 or above not to mention the thousands of quakes that Puerto Rico has witnessed.
Also, since late last week, about 46 MILLION people in 16 cities in China, are under a lockdown quarantine, as a new virus, known as Coronavirus has been spreading. No one can enter or leave the cities involved. Never before in the modern history of human existence, have 46 million people been quarantined; yet that is exactly what is taking place in China today.
There is speculation that the coronavirus may be a bioweapon that was accidentally released from a facility near Wuhan. The death toll could ten times eclipse 1918 flu epidemic which claimed 50 million lives and this virus is spreading across the globe. The Wuhan coronavirus is another example of the global pestilences Jesus prophesied about on the Mount of Olives. This is a fulfillment Bible prophecy!
And this week, in the midst of the Impeachment trials , President Donald Trump is about to unveil the Deal of at the Century that will attempt to bring peace in the Middle East. I would not be surprised is Saudi Arabia and Israel continue to establish diplomatic relations as this deal is announced paving the way for peace in the Middle East. This deal will be announced just after leaders including kings, presidents ad dignitaries from 46 countries just visited Jerusalem to celebrate the Fifth World Holocaust Forum.
What has been leaked already includes the following: Israeli sovereignty in all West Bank settlements, Israeli sovereignty throughout Jerusalem, including the Old City, with only “symbolic Palestinian representation” in Jerusalem. Were Israel to accept the deal, and the Palestinians to reject it, Israel would have US support to begin annexing settlements unilaterally. The Palestinians will be granted statehood, but only if Gaza is demilitarized, Hamas gives up its weapons, and the Palestinians recognize Israel as a Jewish state with Jerusalem as its capital.
Also, just let week, U.S. Ambassador to the Holy See, Callista Gingrich held a meeting at her office in the Vatican, and declared to Pope Francis that the United States is fully committed to working with the Pope to advance their shared goals of mutual respect, religious freedom, and peaceful coexistence” in regards to the Abrahamic Faiths Initiative.
Now I am not writing this to incite fear. What are the odds of all this happening as this year has just begun: Now read this:
Revelation 6:1-8—I watched as the Lamb opened the first of the seven seals. Then I heard one of the four living creatures say in a voice like thunder, “Come!” 2 I looked, and there before me was a white horse! Its rider held a bow, and he was given a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest.3 When the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, “Come!”4 Then another horse came out, a fiery red one. Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth and to make people kill each other. To him was given a large sword.5 When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come!” I looked, and there before me was a black horse! Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand. 6 Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, “Two pounds of wheat for a day’s wages, and six pounds[c] of barley for a day’s wages,[ and do not damage the oil and the wine!”7 When the Lamb opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, “Come!” 8 I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth.
We are living in exciting times folks. I am not implying that these current events are a direct fulfillment of the above mentioned Scriptures. Our focus should not be on the news but rather on the spoken word of the Holy Writ. But I will say this: If you are reading your Bible, we are near the very end of time and the Time of Jacob’s Trouble otherwise known as the Seven Year Tribulation is not far from commencing. Know Jesus. Get saved now while the door of the ark is open.
1 John 2:18-23—Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. 19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us. 20 But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things. 21 I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth. 22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. 23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.
It goes without saying that it is of an absolute certainty that we are living in a time when the battle between the kingdom of God and the kingdom of Satan is intensifying as Satan knows that his time is short……very short. I am convinced that this is because we are nearing the return of Christ—and the ultimate annihilation of Satan’s kingdom.
In God’s economy, if you will, there are three groups of people: Israel and the Jews, the Gentile nations, and the Church which consists of both Jews and Gentiles who have been “born again”.
John 3:3—Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Having already deceived the world, having deceived the Jews (who are still awaiting the arrival of their Messiah) and having deceived what I will refer to as non-Biblical expressions of Christianity, our adversary has now turned his attention towards the very elect.
Matthew 24:22-25—And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened. 23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. 24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. 25 Behold, I have told you before.
There are many false prophets but one final false prophet who will be AntiChrist. (Not the AntiChrist). There are many antichrists but one final AntiChrist, also known as the man of lawlessness, who will emerge. Many Bible scholars and Bible prophecy teachers believe that this man is (or should I say both men are) alive today and it is just a matter of time before he is ushered onto the world stage to resolve humanity’s problems as they continue to spiral out of control.
2 Thessalonians 2:3-9—Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. 5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? 6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. 7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. 8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
The title “man of lawlessness” or “man of sin,” has been identified with many different individuals, including Antiochus Epiphanes, Caligula, Nero, and in the last century, Hitler, Stalin, and others. The man of lawlessness or the man of sin cannot be Satan, nor can this be a reference to a principle of evil. He can be none other than the final Antichrist. Speaking of lawlessness, as we begin 2020, it is being. reported that up to 40% of the world will undergo some sort of civil disobedience this year. Thus, the spirit of lawlessness is obviously at work.
It would take a separate post to focus on the possible identity of the AntiChrist and our focus should primarily be on the Christ. It is interesting to note that there is definite connection between the spirit of AntiChrist and the mystery of iniquity which is mentioned above in 2 Thessalanonians 2:7.
Thus, the spirit of AntiChrist has incessantly been active ever since the time of the birth of the Church and is working together with what the Bible refers to as the mystery of iniquity to further deceive the apostate church let alone the already deceived world in preparation for the arrival of the AntiChrist. In contrast, the Holy Spirit of God is convicting the world of sin and preparing the faithful remnant Church and ultimately the remaining faithful remnant of Israel for the Rapture of the Church and the return of the LORD.
That being said, let’s examine the meaning of the very word “AntiChrist”:
The word Christ is from a Greek word “christos“, which exactly corresponds to the Hebrew word Mashiach from which we get Messiah. So when we say “antichrist,” that means anti-Messiah. However this not the only meaning……..
“Anti” is a Greek preposition. It has two meanings and both of them are applicable in understanding the spirit of AntiChrist. First of all, it means “against.” So the first operation is against Messiah. Let me also mention that Jesus Christ is not only the Messiah, but He also represents truth and also represents the Word of God:
John 14:6—Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
John 1:1—In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:14—And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
The second meaning is “in place of.” The ultimate purpose is to put a false Messiah in place of the true Messiah. When you read 1 Timothy 4:2 you are now looking at a false word of God in place of the true word of God.
1 Timothy 4:2—Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; 3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
Look at this in the Amplified version:
1 Timothy 4:2—But the [Holy] Spirit distinctly and expressly declares that in latter times some will turn away from the faith, giving attention to deluding and seducing spirits and doctrines that demons teach, 2 Through the hypocrisy and pretensions of liars whose consciences are seared (cauterized), 3 Who forbid people to marry and [teach them] to abstain from [certain kinds of] foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and have [an increasingly clear] knowledge of the truth.
This is the word “pseudo logos” which comes from the word “pseudologon.”So the total operation is in two phases. Whereas Jesus Christ, who represents the true incarnate Logos and the Word of God and is the truth, then in contrast in the economy of the AntiChrist there exists a falselogos or “pseudologon” attempting to operate in the place of the truth. When you begin to recognize that, you will see that the spirit of antichrist has been extremely active almost throughout much of the professing church.
2 Timothy 3:16-17—All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
Scripture is always the primary and the only grounds for doctrine. We are to study the Holy Writ prayerfully, illuminated by the Holy Spirit through the lense of other Scripture. It is also crucial that we understand, especially in these last days prior to the Rapture of the Church that as the true Church is united, empowered and led by the Holy Spirit of God on the very basis of the true Word of God, false religions, heretical churches and even cults will in contrast, be united, empowered and led by the very spirit of AntiChrist on the very basis of a false word of God.
So the spirit of AntiChrist always begins in some way in association with the people of God. But, it does not really belong there, and in due course that will be made manifest. Antichrist does not deny the existence of God. In fact, he claims to be God’s representative.
The primary focus of a “pseudologon“ than is to act in the place of what actually is the truth and draw the deceived individual(s) from true salvation and discipleship which is only available in Christ, ultimately, with the final aim of pointing the individual(s) towards the AntiChrist to come.
1 John 4:1-6——-Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: 3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. 4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. 5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. 6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
1 John 4:1-6—Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Every born-again believer has the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit.
1 John 3:23-24—And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. 24 And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.
1 John 2:18-28—Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. 24 Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father. 25 And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life. 26 These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you. 27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. 28 And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.
In the above verse, John calls the presence of the Holy Spirit “the anointing which you have received from Him…”God has given us His indwelling Spirit but John now points out that there are other “spirits” loose in the world. If we have the Holy Spirit, we ought to “test the Spirits.” The Holy Spirit will always guide us into truth:
John 16:13-15—Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. 14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. 15 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
Christians often measure the validity of a sermon by how it sounds, the words used, the inflection of the speaker’s voice, whether or not it makes them feel good. None of these are appropriate methods of determining a good sermon. In 1 John 4:1 the word for “test,” actually means “to approve or examine.” The term was used of gold that was to be put in the fire to test its purity.
Proverbs 4:7— Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
Every man or woman of understanding, by definition indeed may have wisdom. But not every man or woman who has wisdom has yet attained understanding. It is important to know that understanding is not just intellectual. It is spiritually intuitive in the sense that we know by the illumination of our spirit by the Holy Spirit and so we understand what we know with the sanctified mind.
Someone can hear the message of the Gospel but unless the Holy Spirit illuminates the message and touches the individual, convicting them of their sins, that person cannot become regenerate. Furthermore, one must become regenerate before they can be discipled. Similarly, one cannot truly become a person of understanding unless he/she is first a disciple.
John 8:30-32—As he spake these words, many believed on him. 31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
Thus, a carnally minded believer who still is attached to the things of the world already lacks wisdom and limits himself from gaining understanding. If those who already know the truth are willfully not living it in divinely powered sanctification, what basis is there for them to know the deeper things of God if they fail to act on what they already know or have? Just a thought. When one can make a passage of Scripture say anything one wishes, one can believe anything, including that which is of AntiChrist is of Christ. As a result, that which is false is believed to be true. Perhaps one of the reasons for the apostasy in today’s churches may be because of what I just mentioned above.
So then what was John’s definition of an Antichrist? According to the Bible, John defined an antichrist as any person (or group) who denies the Father and the Son. In 1 John 4:3, he explained, “every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. And this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming; and now it is already in the world.” When analyzed critically, one can see that any person or group, which does not recognize that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, has come in the flesh, is a person or group that has been seized by the spirit of antichrist.
As we begin this year 2020, in a previous post I had mentioned that prophetic events are accelerating at a breakneck speed and much of what the prophets of the Old Testament and Jesus Christ Himself spoke about is rapidly coming to pass.
Furthermore, the Number Twenty in the Bible is associated with war. We are now looking at a Double 20 (2020).
Respectfully speaking, many Bible prophecy scholars and student alike are quick to rush to the conclusion that the War of Gog and Magog, as prophesied in Ezekiel 38-39 is looming. To some extent, I agree. I also am leaning towards the probability that the Battle of Gog and Magog will also be a transitional event that leads to the 70th Week of Daniel as prophesied in Daniel 9:20-26
Daniel 9:20-26 (NLT)–I went on praying and confessing my sin and the sin of my people, pleading with the Lord my God for Jerusalem, his holy mountain. 21 As I was praying, Gabriel, whom I had seen in the earlier vision, came swiftly to me at the time of the evening sacrifice. 22 He explained to me, “Daniel, I have come here to give you insight and understanding. 23 The moment you began praying, a command was given. And now I am here to tell you what it was, for you are very precious to God. Listen carefully so that you can understand the meaning of your vision.24 “A period of seventy sets of seven[c] has been decreed for your people and your holy city to finish their rebellion, to put an end to their sin, to atone for their guilt, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to confirm the prophetic vision, and to anoint the Most Holy Place.[d]25 Now listen and understand! Seven sets of seven plus sixty-two sets of seven[e] will pass from the time the command is given to rebuild Jerusalem until a ruler—the Anointed One[f]—comes. Jerusalem will be rebuilt with streets and strong defenses,[g] despite the perilous times.26 “After this period of sixty-two sets of seven,[h] the Anointed One will be killed, appearing to have accomplished nothing, and a ruler will arise whose armies will destroy the city and the Temple. The end will come with a flood, and war and its miseries are decreed from that time to the very end. 27 The ruler will make a treaty with the people for a period of one set of seven,[i] but after half this time, he will put an end to the sacrifices and offerings. And as a climax to all his terrible deeds,[j] he will set up a sacrilegious object that causes desecration,[k] until the fate decreed for this defiler is finally poured out on him.”
I will be reposting pertinent writings on both the War of Gog and Magog as well as the Rapture.
I anticipate things to happen “suddenly,” By the way, the war of Isaiah 17 in which Damascus is destroyed, culminates suddenly, in one day.
Isaiah 7:14–The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.2 The cities of Aroer are forsaken: they shall be for flocks, which shall lie down, and none shall make them afraid.3 The fortress also shall cease from Ephraim, and the kingdom from Damascus, and the remnant of Syria: they shall be as the glory of the children of Israel, saith the Lord of hosts.4 And in that day it shall come to pass…..
Back to Iran for now. Iran is currently the most heavily armed nation in the Middle East region. As you study the prophecies in Ezekiel 38, Persia is not leading but is actually playing a tertiary role, They are following Gog and Magog or whom most Bible prophecy scholars speculate is Russia and Turkey. Iran (or Persia) is also accompanied in the coalition by Libya and Ethiopia/Sudan:
Ezekiel 38: 1- 4-—–Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him,3 And say, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal:4 And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords:5Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet:
Is it a coincidence that last month Turkey and the Government of National Accord (GNA) in Tripoli, Libya signed a military pact that essentially divides the whole Eastern Mediterranean Sea between them. Just this past week, Turkey’s parliament voted to approve a request by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to send military forces to Libya. This now sets the stage for a deeper Turkish involvement as an all out proxy war civil war in Libya looms,,
All the pieces are coming into place as Turkey , Russia, Iran are all strategizing.
This is where the prophecies of Jeremiah the prophet come into play.
Jeremiah 49:34-39 in the near term:
Jeremiah 49:34-39—34 The word of the Lord that came to Jeremiah the prophet against Elam in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, saying,35 Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Behold, I will break the bow of Elam, the chief of their might.36 And upon Elam will I bring the four winds from the four quarters of heaven, and will scatter them toward all those winds; and there shall be no nation whither the outcasts of Elam shall not come.37 For I will cause Elam to be dismayed before their enemies, and before them that seek their life: and I will bring evil upon them, even my fierce anger, saith the Lord; and I will send the sword after them, till I have consumed them:38 And I will set my throne in Elam, and will destroy from thence the king and the princes, saith the Lord.39 But it shall come to pass in the latter days, that I will bring again the captivity of Elam, saith the Lord.
Anyway, with Iran’s recent confession of accepting responsibility for the downing of the Ukrainian plane that took the lives of 176 people and with the United States, Great Britain, Israel and possibly NATO getting involved in destabilizing Iranian Nuclear armament, it is now very plausible that the nations will come together in the near future and some sort of military engagement may take place that results in a reduction to Iranian military power.
This in return would then minimize Iran’s military/Nuclear prowess and lessen its status to that of a supporting nation in the Magog coalition of Ezekiel 38-39. Furthermore, I wouldn’t rule out a political insurrection. Although the world may perceive Iran as a potential enemy whose religious belief systems are steeped in Apocalyptic revolutionary Shi’ite Islam, which is different from the moderate Sunni belief, the current population in Iran is 81 million and the median age is 31 years old. About 44.8% of the Iranian population are between 30 and 64 years, which means almost half of the population is under 30. God is moving in Iran and salvation is coming to Iran.
Daniel 12:4-But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.
Jesus stated that the faithful church would know and understand the meaning of certain world events as they would occur. All end-time prophecy is centered on the Book of Daniel. Much of the Book of Revelation is unsealed by examining what is written in the Book of Daniel let alone other Old Testament books of the prophets.
As we enter the Year 2020, although it has been said that 20/20 is a reference to “perfect sight,” & “clear vision,” the Number Twenty in the Bible is associated with war. We are now looking at a double 20. Could this be a year of war?
Deuteronomy 20 is the Torah’s chapter on war. Within it are instructions for a believer who is facing a trailer test on how to win. 2 Chronicles 20 is the Old Testament chapter on how to conduct a successful war campaign. For more insight on this I recommend you read The Divine Code; A Prophetic Encyclopedia of Numbers Vol. I & II, by Steve Ciocollanto.
Just a few days ago on New Year’s Eve, the following took place: Iranian proxy forces stormed the U.S. Embassy in Iraq, setting the compound on Fire and forcing the U.S. Ambassador to Iraq, Matthew Tueller to flee. After the U.S. Ambassador was safely evacuated, several events transpired. President Trump announced that he was not going to allow another Benghazi. Over 4,000 American troops were sent to the Middle East.
But it doesn’t stop there. It is now being reported Iran’s top military commander, Qasem Suleimani, has been assassinated in a U.S. Drone Air Strike. First Iraqi state TV, and then Iran TV too, has announced the death of Iran’s most senior elite military commander, IRGC Quds Force chief Qasem Suleimani. With a possible war looming in the Middle East take a look at the latest U.S. naval deployments as of today:
In a statement released by the U.S. Department of Defense it reads:
“…..At the direction of the President, the U.S. military has taken decisive defensive action to protect U.S. personnel abroad by killing Qasem Soleimani, the head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-Quds Force, a U.S.-designated Foreign Terrorist Organization. ……..This strike was aimed at deterring future Iranian attack plans. The United States will continue to take all necessary action to protect our people and our interests wherever they are around the world.
Iran has vowed a ‘crushing revenge’ and ‘jihad’ on the United States after an American airstrike this morning killed Tehran’s top general Qassem Soleimani, head of the elite Quds Force, at Baghdad International Airport
Although they are prominently Moslems, Iranians are not Arabs. They are Persians. The actual name of Iran is Persia. The name change took place in the 1930’s.
Anthropologically speaking, Iran comes from the word “Aryan,” Aryans were Indo-Europeans who invaded northern India in the 2nd Millennium B.C., displacing the Dravidian and other aboriginal peoples. They are not semitic peoples like Jews and Arabs. They are a Germanic people. Persians are of the same anthropological origin as Germans and Austrians. They eventually settled in the near east and their influence was from Northern India by the Indus River to the Fertile Crescent.
Historically, Iran was originally kind and charitable towards Israel. Now, Iran is committed to the very destruction of Israel. Iran will somehow become a threat to the very existence of Israel prior to the return of the LORD. The stage is being set for this. This is and has always been a spiritual battle.
Daniel 1-:12-14-–Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words. 13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia. 14 Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days.
Satan is attempting to destroy Israel and ultimately prevent the return of Jesus Christ from happening. He is now using Iran to try to accomplish this. We need to pray for the people of Iran. Again are battle is not against another race of people. This is a spiritual battle:
Ephesians 6:12—For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
President Trump signed an executive order declaring the Jewish people, a nation, has promised to be a viable to Israel and now the U.S. is squarely in the middle of this current situation.
If you want to know the future, you must study the past. If you want to know what is going to happen, you must know what already has happened.
Ecclesiastes 1:9–The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
Ecclesiastes 3:15— That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.
As prophesied in the Bible, something rather earth shaking is about to take place that is ultimately going to shake other nations into conflict as a result.
There is no denying that the same principality of Persia that Daniel saw is driving Fundamentalism Shi’a Moslems who are expecting the Mahdi.
Hitler was able to literally hypnotize masses of people through demonic powers working through him. Remember, principalities operate through personalities.
In both cases, ethnically speaking, it was Aryans. Iran has never been enemies with Israel until now. To be exact things began to change in the 1970’s when the Shah of Iran was overtaken by Ayatollah Khoumeini.
Even Orthodox Jewish Rabbis clearly see Iran as the final empire that will cause much trouble prior to the return of the Messiah. Folks, I am not making this up.
Our prayers may delay the ultimate fulfillment of these end-time events but they cannot prevent them from coming to pass. Remember, God has declared the end from the beginning:
Isaiah 46:9-10–Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, 10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand,
However, it doesn’t seem as if things are slowing down. Every day something is happening. and yet as we have just begun 2020, we are clearly witnessing an acceleration in prophetic fulfillment.
It bears mentioning that in no other religious literature in the world do we find any specific predictive prophecies like we find in the Scriptures. In the Bible there are well over two thousand prophecies, most of which have already been fulfilled.
Though the Bible has been attacked, the one place where God rests His inspiration is that the things He foretells come infallibly to pass: 100% accuracy!!!
I again plea with you to study the Scriptures and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord & Savior while there still remains time.
It’s been months since my last blog but as 2019 comes to a close I sensed a strong urge to get back to writing especially due to the times we are living in and the approaching Year 2020. I want to stay committed to purpose of this website which is Bible prophecy for today: to examine current events in light of Biblical Scriptures.
When Joshua crossed over into the promised land, he was met by an angel with its sword drawn. Joshua knew instantly that this was a warrior, and he asked the angel, “Are you for us? Or are you for our enemies?” The angel’s response was an interesting one:
Joshua 5:13-14—Now when Joshua was near Jericho, he looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with a drawn sword in his hand. Joshua went up to him and asked, “Are you for us or for our enemies?”14 “Neither,” he replied, “but as commander of the army of the Lord I have now come.” Then Joshua fell facedown to the ground in reverence, and asked him, “What message does my Lord have for his servant?”
As 2019 comes to an end, brace yourself for what will be a very exciting 2020! All that has transpired in this world, in the United States and especially the Middle East, God is not oblivious to what has been happening. As a matter of fact, He is about to step in the affairs of the world in a mighty way.
Isaiah 46:9-10–Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:
It goes with out saying that prophetic events are accelerating at a breakneck speed and much of what the prophets of the Old Testament and Jesus Christ Himself spoke about is rapidly coming to pass.
2 Peter 3: 9-14—The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
The Church Age has existed for 2000+ years. Although God gives mankind the right to choose, ultimately, there comes a time, that liberty produces another byproduct of that liberty which is Justice. Without liberty there is no justice. To make good choices based on God’s law and His commandments produces blessings, but to do evil in the sight of God according to His giving men the right to liberty, there comes a time when justice will be enacted.
Justice is coming in 2020!!!
Many prophesied events that culminate in the Second Coming of Jesus Christ are not far removed from coming to pass. I will cover these events and write about them in upcoming posts.
The question you must ask your self today is “Whose side are YOU on?
John 3:16–For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Romans 6:23—For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord
Romans 5:1-9—Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope:5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
Stay tuned for exciting posts as 2020 is just hours away.
