Noah’s Ark Discovered?: Has History’s Most Famous “SHIPWRECK” Been Uncovered?
Genesis 6:7-22—9 These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.10 And Noah begat three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.11 The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.12 And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.14 Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.15 And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits.
16 A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it.17 And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.18 But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons’ wives with thee.
19 And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female.20 Of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after his kind, two of every sort shall come unto thee, to keep them alive.21 And take thou unto thee of all food that is eaten, and thou shalt gather it to thee; and it shall be for food for thee, and for them.22 Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.
Genesis 7: 10-24:10 And it came to pass after seven days, that the waters of the flood were upon the earth.11 In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.12 And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.
13 In the selfsame day entered Noah, and Shem, and Ham, and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah’s wife, and the three wives of his sons with them, into the ark;14 They, and every beast after his kind, and all the cattle after their kind, and every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind, and every fowl after his kind, every bird of every sort.15 And they went in unto Noah into the ark, two and two of all flesh, wherein is the breath of life.
16 And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the Lord shut him in.17 And the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and bare up the ark, and it was lift up above the earth.18 And the waters prevailed, and were increased greatly upon the earth; and the ark went upon the face of the waters.
19 And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered.20 Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered.21 And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man:22 All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died.
23 And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark.24 And the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and fifty days.
Genesis 8:1-4–8 And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters assuaged;2 The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained;3 And the waters returned from off the earth continually: and after the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters were abated.4 And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat.
Mount Ararat is a towering, snow-capped volcanic massif and the country’s highest peak,, Mount Ararat is located in the far eastern part off Turkey near the borders of Armenia, Iran, and the Nakhchivan exclave of Azerbaijan.
In Turkish, Mount Ararat is called Ağrı Dağı, which translates literally to “Mountain of Ağrı”
In modern Turkish, the word ağrı means “pain,” “ache,” or “sorrow”. Because of this, Ağrı Dağı is often popularly translated as the “mountain of pain”.
The word “Ararat” itself is not a Turkish word; it is the biblical and ancient Assyrian/Babylonian name (derived from Urartu) for the region, which was later adopted into Western languages
The Durupınar site is a large, boat-shaped geological formation located in the Tendürek mountains of eastern Turkey. Situated approximately 18 miles (29 kilometers) south of the summit of Mount Ararat, the site is famous because its symmetrical shape and dimensions closely match the biblical description of Noah’s Ark,first identified in 1959 by Turkish Army Capt. İlhan Durupınar.
Some researchers have claimed that the boat-shaped Durupinar formation has the exact same dimensions that the Bible says that Noah’s Ark had.
Are the remains of Noah’s Ark are contained in the Durupinar formation in the Mountains of Ararat.??
An international team of researchers, geologists and archaeologists has been conducting an unprecedented scientific investigation of the Durupinar formation, and they are extremely excited about what they have found so far.The team is being led by a couple of prominent Turkish professors…Turkish Professor of Archaeology Prof. Dr. Cenker Atila of Sivas Cumhuriyet University and supported by Prof. Dr. Ahmet Şengönül, Rector of Sivas Cumhuriyet University with Noah’s Ark Scan’s Andrew Jones serving as Vice President of the Noah’s Ark Research Project. This Scientific Expedition is being conducted with official authorization from relevant Turkish government agencies.
This is a really big deal.
For centuries, travelers passed through these mountains.
With Mount Ararat rising behind the Durupınar formation, this region became an ancient crossroads between east and west, a route later traveled by merchants, pilgrims and travelers along the Silk Road. And according to ancient traditions, some of those pilgrims came here because they believed the Ark had come to rest in these mountains.
There are even accounts of travelers taking pieces of wood from the Ark as sacred relics, pieces that were later preserved in churches and monasteries.
Today, the story is being investigated in a very different way.
Instead of simply collecting relics, the team of reseachers is collecting data. Radar. Core drilling. Soil samples. Geological analysis.
Generations of people have come looking for Noah’s Ark.
Now they’re using modern science to investigate what remains beneath the surface.
For years, researchers were prevented from doing this sort of work by Turkish authorities.
Ground-penetrating radar has confirmed that the ship that is buried there has corridors, compartments and three distinct levels. Needless to say, the Bible says that the Ark was built with lower, middle, and upper levels. There are perfect right angles inside the formation that could not have been produced naturally.
How did an absolutely enormous three level ship that is roughly the size of a World War I-era aircraft carrier end up so far away from any major body of water in the Mountains of Ararat?
Maybe Durupınar is Noah’s Ark. Maybe it is an unusual geological formation. They have been drilling into a boat-shaped formation in the mountains of Ararat, and everybody wants the drill bit to settle an argument that God settled with ink thousands of years ago.
But here is the part nobody can drill around: “the ark rested…upon the mountains of Ararat” (Genesis 8:4). Whether they find the lumber or not, God already gave you the location, the judgment, the survivors, and the reason it happened.
Never before have researchers been allowed to drill deep into the Durupinar formation to collect core samples. According to Andrew Jones, at one point they were forced to stop drilling because they “struck a layer so hard that the drill bit broke”…
“For the first time in history, we are performing an extensive, permitted deep core drilling survey inside and outside the Durupınar Noah’s Ark site, recovering samples from depths of up to 18 meters, nearly 60 feet. We have so far recovered layers of rich organic material that we believe could be the decayed top tier remains of the Ark. We are encountering multiple cavities, including one filled with mud and water. No bedrock or solid limestone has so far been identified in the holes drilled inside the formation. These current findings challenge claims that this is simply a natural shape made of limestone or bedrock.
“In one of the holes drilled inside the boat, approximately 4–5 meters below the surface, The drilling system had already penetrated the overlying material, but at this layer, the operation stopped as we struck a layer so hard that the drill bit broke. Petrified or highly mineralized wood are both a possibility we want to investigate through third party lab testing.”
The drill bit has been repaired and so the core drilling will be able to continue…Petrified wood can be much harder than limestone and there some who have confirmed that there is petrified wood at the site.
In addition to the core drilling that is being done, the team also intends to insert an underground exploration drone into “voids, tunnels, and corridors previously mapped by ground-penetrating radar”…
Second, researchers plan to insert the custom-built GOPHER underground exploration drone into voids, tunnels, and corridors previously mapped by ground-penetrating radar, electrical resistivity tomography, and related surveys.
GOPHER, named for the “gopher wood” of Genesis, is equipped with a high-resolution camera, designed to enter narrow borehole access points without opening large excavation trenches.
That drone should be able to give us a tremendous amount of information. In fact, I believe that what that drone reveals will shock the entire world.
Prior to all of this, for months research was being conducted at the Durupinar formation…
The drilling campaign follows months of baseline work at the site, including precision GPS mapping, three-dimensional digital modeling, soil sampling inside and outside the outline, and high-resolution subsurface imaging. Earlier scans identified linear features, right-angle intersections, layered anomalies, and elongated voids interpreted by the team as possible corridors and chamber-like spaces.
U.S. Defense Scientist Dr. Khrosrow Bakthar, recently deployed BaktharRadar at the site and provided the core drilling coordinates to the Noah’s Ark 2026 expedition team. Dr. Bakthar’s preliminary report found no bedrock at the site, more details of the prestigious scientist’s report are expected to be released by Noah’s Ark Scans later this week.
To me, what the ground-penetrating radar has been discovering is particularly exciting… The team has also found pottery near the Durupinar formation “that predates the flood”, and we are being told there are lots of seashells in the area that haven’t even fossilized yet.
That seems rather odd considering the fact that the closest major body of water is about 150 miles away. So how did all of those seashells get there?
Of course, all of the evidence that is being collected is simply confirmation of what locals in the area have known for thousands of years.
In fact, residents of that region have always been very proud of the fact that the resting place of Noah’s Ark is there. And all the way back in the first century, Josephus identified that location as the resting place of Noah’s Ark.
So, it isn’t as if we have suddenly discovered something new. Perhaps it would be more apropos to say that we have rediscovered what others have known all along. Noah’s Ark really does exist, and it is still sitting there in the Mountains of Ararat where it has always been since the days of the Flood.

Matthew 24:34-37— 34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
What makes the timing interesting is that Jesus said, “But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be” (Matthew 24:37).
2 Peter 3:4-6— This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:2 That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
Notice here Peter said the last days would produce scoffers asking, “Where is the promise of his coming?” while being “willingly…ignorant” of the world that once perished beneath water (2 Peter 3:4–6).
Now picture the irony if they actually uncover convincing remains of an ancient vessel while the same generation laughs at Genesis, mocks the Second Coming, and insists that judgment is a primitive religious idea. God has always had a way of letting a man trip over the evidence while man in his fallen state proclaims there is none.
Skeptics are scrambling to come up with some sort of a theory that might work, because for most of them it is unthinkable to concede that the Bible is historically accurate.
But do not make the mistake of thinking that finding Noah’s Ark would make the world repent. They watched Lazarus walk out of a grave and started planning murder.
They watched Christ heal the blind, cleanse lepers, raise the dead, and feed multitudes, and John still wrote, “though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him” (John 12:37).
John 12:34-37— 34 The people answered him, We have heard out of the law that Christ abideth for ever: and how sayest thou, The Son of man must be lifted up? who is this Son of man?35 Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.
36 While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them.37 But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him:
Fallen man does not merely suffer from an evidence shortage; he suffers from a heart that wants a universe without a Judge
But the greater warning is not buried under Turkish soil. Noah had one Ark, one door, and a world that waited until the rain started before deciding the old preacher might have had a point.
John 10:9-11— 9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
Jesus Christ said, “I am the door” (John 10:9). The tragedy of this generation would not be failing to find Noah’s Ark. It would be finding it, and still missing the Door.
It would appear that God preserved the remains of Noah’s ark for over 4,300 years just for it to be revealed at this exact time. If shown to be true, this would be the biggest piece of evidence for the validity of the Bible a skeptic could possibly ask for. Yet, the unbelieving world is already scoffing.
So it’s probably no coincidence that Peter talked about this exact dynamic when he prophesied about the last days (2nd Peter 3:3-6), linking emerging scoffers with those who explicitly dismiss the reality of the global flood that occurred thousands of years ago:
Friends, this is truly sobering. God is about to give the world an absolute STUNNER – an undeniable witness that His Word is trustworthy and true.
And He’s basically shouting out to anyone with eyes to see that His Son is returning soon. Will you listen?
John 3:5-7—5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
Who needs salvation: Everyone does because all have sinned and fall short of God’s glory:
Romans 3:23 –For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Why salvation is needed: Disobedience to God is sin, and sin deserves eternal consequences:
Romans 6:23 —For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
How God provides salvation: Christ died in the sinner’s place, paying the penalty for sin so that people don’t have to:
Romans 5:8–8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
How salvation is received: By confessing with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believing that God raised him from the dead:
Romans 10:9-10—9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt Believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
The results of salvation: Eternal life in Christ Jesus, which means not dying and ending up in hell forever:
Romans 10:13–For “whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
